SPARK Codex opens
SPARK Codex is open. Its first references are live: dengue (WHO 2009), severe malaria, rabies exposure categories, WHO HIV staging, childhood pneumonia, Child-Turcotte-Pugh, Light's criteria, and the Berlin definition of ARDS.
Search by the condition, not the eponym. Typing “sirosis” finds Child-Turcotte-Pugh; “demam berdarah” finds the WHO dengue classification.
Every entry names the document it came from, its edition, and the date it was verified, on screen and in the PDF you can download. Entries are labelled Reference, never Validated: a guideline summary, not a SPARK-curated calculator.
Eleven catalogued entries were struck off before publication because SPARK already ships them as Validated calculators. The library will not sell you the same tool twice.
Another 314 references are catalogued and waiting their turn. The page shows that honestly rather than pretending the shelf is full.

A new face for SPARK, same calculations
SPARK has been redesigned from the first screen to inside the workspace: a warm, photographic world with the SPARK mark rendered as a physical object whose light beats like a heart. Every calculator, score, and autoformat is unchanged and still cites its source.
Dark mode is here. Tap the moon in the top right; the whole site crosses over as one sweep of light. Built for night shifts, and it remembers your choice.
SPARK Basic is now called SPARK Essentials. Nothing about it changed: same calculators, same price, same access. Every calculator stays free forever and sits exactly where it was. This is a name, not a new product.
A new workspace layout. Your tools are grouped by tier. SPARK Essentials for every day, SPARK Specialty for your subscribed dashboards, and two tiers now in development: SPARK Codex, a searchable reference library, and SPARK Atlas, which starts from a diagnosis and answers with the guidelines that apply, its ICD-10 code, and the SPARK calculators that go with it.
Every Specialty tool now carries a Validated badge on its card and in its header: clinically verified and in use. Tools in the coming Codex will be labelled Reference instead, so you always know which is which.
Exports are documents now, not spreadsheets. The account list a campus representative receives, plus the Burn Injury and Anthropometry reports, come out as PDFs in the new SPARK design. The minus sign in a z-score finally prints as a minus sign.
Signing in got its own moment, and it can be skipped with a tap when you are mid-shift.
The live demo on the landing page now uses the same typed input fields as the real calculators, so what you try is what you get.
WHO Anthropometry (Permenkes 2/2020) is live: BB/U, PB·TB/U and BB/PB·TB z-scores with growth charts, Weight/Height Age, an auto-generated Kesan, ready to copy or export to PDF.
Optional head circumference (LK/U) for children under 2, plus a WHO Neonate tool with per-day assessment (birth–30 days).
CDC Anthropometry (2–20 years): percent-of-median (Waterlow/Gomez) using CDC 2000 charts.
AutoFormat SOAP Partus/SC: a copy-ready S/O/A/P note with APGAR, New Ballard, and automatic Lubchenco diagnosis (NCB/NKB/NLB × SMK/KMK/BMK).
PDF reports include the growth charts and are colour-coded by sex (blue/pink).

SPARK Essentials expanded
SPARK Essentials grew to six calculators with Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), CURB-65, and the 4-2-1 Maintenance Fluid rule.
BMI now supports metric & imperial units; eGFR accepts creatinine in mg/dL or µmol/L.
